Our fraternity is comprised of Catholic men and women from various walks of life in the Prince William County Virginia area (and beyond) who are all dedicated to serving the world through our call to follow St. Dominic as lay people.
Fraternity life is an important part of our vocation, so once a month we gather to pray, study and join in community together. Our apostolate is ongoing, but strengthened during these regular meetings.
Once a year, we are invited to gather with other Lay Dominicans in our region.

The Four Pillars of Dominican Life in our Fraternity
Prayer
Lay Dominicans make a serious commitment to pray Morning and Evening Prayer portions of the Divine Office, the Rosary, assist at Holy Mass daily if possible, and pray for deceased members of the Dominican Order.
In addition to each member's personal prayer, LFSD 513 Sacred Heart Chapter prays weekly together on Thursdays online and monthly in our Fraternity meetings.
Study
Study is a part of our life because through it we seek to know more about God, which means we come to love Him better. As Lay Dominicans we are called to study scripture, the teachings of the Church, and contemporary issues in the light of Faith. Study enriches our prayer, community, and apostolate because it helps us understand and better articulate the Truth.
LFSD 513 Sacred Heart Chapter is studying "The Life of St. Dominic" by Fr. Bede Jarrett, OP and meets weekly for formation.
Community
Lay Dominicans come together to share their common vocation within a local fraternity. Frequent and regular participation in community life enables us to grow in love, patience and understanding.
We are strengthened and supported by our brothers and sisters, as we seek to grow in holiness together in the Dominican Family.
LFSD 513 Sacred Heart Chapter meets weekly as a community online and monthly in person with online option.
Apostolate
The apostles were the men "sent out" by Jesus to share in His mission. Likewise, an apostolate is the work we are "sent out" to do in the world. Dominicans have individual apostolates, as well as communal apostolates. This work is undertaken for the salvation of souls, and because we are Dominicans, it usually contains an element of preaching.
LFSD 513 Sacred Heart Chapter's apostolate is the promotion of the Rosary.
